As input, the wind tool needs a simplified 3D model of your building volume, without balconies or façade details. Optionally, another 3D file can be uploaded with the surrounding buildings modelled as simple volumes. Any vegetation or height differences in the terrain will not be considered in this early design tool.
Based on your 3D model(s), the tool automatically runs CFD wind simulations for 12 wind directions. The results are then processed according to the local wind statistics, to present wind exceedance probabilities. Based on these numbers, the tool will tell you which parts of the space around a building are suitable for which (public) function.
