Over the past 10 years, Actiflow performed hundreds of pedestrian wind comfort studies. Most of these studies must comply with (inter)national norms or guidelines, which implies that it takes a few weeks to finish a study. Based on the feedback of our customers, we understood the need to develop an easier and faster method to assess wind comfort, mainly as input for designers in a conceptual design phase. Therefore we developed the Actiflow wind tool

With our tool, real estate developers, architects and technical consultants can easily analyze and improve the pedestrian wind comfort around a (new) building. The tool is specifically developed for early-stage building design, where it is useful to analyze multiple design variants in a short period of time, while not compromising on accuracy, to make sure that wind hindrance will not cause any issues in later design stages.

The results of a wind assessment will be presented to you according to the norm/guideline that you selected in advance. However, as our online tool is specifically optimized for early-stage assessments, the methodology behind the tool does not fully comply with all criteria of this norm. Therefore, the results can mainly be used for design purposes, and to make sure that your final design will meet the official requirements. The results of our online tool cannot directly be used for permit/planning applications. Please contact us for a study that fully complies with the international norms/guidelines. If you already used our tool in an earlier phase, we offer reduced rates for a final detailed wind study. While the tool follows a ‘do it yourself’ principle, we are always there to help you with user support or technical advice if needed.
