Online CFD tool: our virtual wind tunnel

At Actiflow, we use advanced CFD simulations to model airflow and liquid flow in their surroundings. Our engineers know how to model almost any fluid flow phenomenon, and advice you in the development of your product or building.

However, for our customers that would like to try and experience CFD themselves, we now offer an online tool that makes it very easy to assess the aerodynamic properties of any object. It is basically a virtual wind tunnel. Just drag and drop your 3D drawing and receive a report with aerodynamic properties and flow visualizations.

The tool is a completely automated solution, so it has its limitations, but if you are in an early design phase, and you are not ready yet for a full CFD project, our online wind tunnel tool is the perfect start.

Online CFD tool – What do I pay?

When using the online CFD tool, you can choose between 3 options. The main difference between the options is the size of the computational mesh that will be used for the simulation. If you choose “concept”, a rather course mesh will be used (2 million cells), which should be enough is most cases to compare concepts and to judge the soundness of a design. If you choose “detailed”, a more refined mesh will be used (about 10 million cells) to catch more flow details in the simulation. In an “ultimate” simulation, a mesh with about 40 million cells will be used. This mesh size is comparable to the meshes used by Actiflow in an advanced CFD project. This mesh size should be enough to achieve detailed and highly reliable CFD results.
