Pollution of outdoor air is one of the major environmental problems of our society. To predict the micro dispersion of pollutants and gases (i.e. at urban or building scale) is a complex problem, where wind plays a major role.
At Actiflow we asses the interaction between wind and gases or particles of different species using advanced computer simulations. This category of studies includes not only the dispersion of toxic gases in the urban environment, but also dispersion of particles around factories and concentration of exhaust gases on ship decks and offshore platforms. Based on our simulations, we advise our customers how to improve the air quality in outdoor spaces, and how to avoid pollutants ending up in HVAC systems of indoor spaces.
