Airflow in the operating room in virtual reality!
We look back on a successful OK Total congress. Mike van der Heijden gave a presentation at this conference, in which the airflow in the OK is made clear in VR. This visualises the elusive phenomenon of ‘airflow’ for everyone in a simple way. Specifically, the situation ‘at rest’ was discussed, as it is used in the validation of ORs and the situation ‘in operation’, which is indicative of the occurrence of deep wound infections. Both the use of VR and the demonstrated difference between the two situations led to many positive reactions.
Actiflow wants to further deepen this subject together with users and designers of ORs in order to take patient safety to a higher level.
